Meet The Blogger - Dhreen Tulsiani

Sharing is caring!

In our latest interview series which I like to call “Meet the Blogger”, where I spotlight inspiring creatives on this Blogger Magazine. We caught up with Dhreen Tulsiani who runs The Money Casa blog.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog?

My name is Dhreen Tulsiani and I live in Toronto, ON, Canada. My blog, The Money Casa, is a place where you can learn, discover and understand more about money and finances.

2. Describe what inspired you to start your blog?

Money is something all of us need. No one can do without it. I realized that there are many people out there desperately looking for ways to make money, save money and make better financial decisions. I wanted to help people by sharing the knowledge that I have about money and finances. This is exactly what inspired me to start this blog.

3. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

The niche of the blog – Personal Finance, is what keeps me motivated to keep my blog running. What’s unique about this niche is that you can never run out of ideas. I am always excited and motivated to share new ideas with my audience to help them make better financial decisions.

4. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers?

I post new content once a week, every Monday. I feel that Monday’s are the days when everyone starts to get serious about work. After all, every Monday is the beginning of a new week. What better way to start off a new week than with new ideas about money? I communicate with my followers several times during the week by email and through social media posts.

5. What do you think is the best social media strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?

The best social media strategy is to post very often, at the very least 5 times per day. This is essential to attract more visitors to a blog.

6. Would you encourage other people to make their blog?

In one word, YES! There are so many reasons I can think of right off the bat. Here are some: 1. With a blog, you can share your thoughts and ideas with others and get their feedback. This allows for open communication. It also presents an opportunity to find like-minded people. 2. You can monetize your blog by displaying ads on your blog as well as by creating sponsored posts. 3. You can unleash your creativity with your blog. You can literally design it the way you have always wanted to design a website. It’s like having a blank canvas ready to be painted on. 4. You get exposure on the internet. You can become a famous blogger. Your blog can become famous too. All of this can lead to higher paying opportunities.

7. A lot of people think that blogging is an easy way to make money online. Do you have some tips for those people who are interested in making money from the blog?

It is very much possible to make money through blogging. Is it easy? It depends on how you look at it. If you absolutely love and enjoy blogging, then you would, without a doubt, find blogging (and making money through it) an easy thing to do, because you would have fun doing it. If you do not like and enjoy blogging, then blogging (and making money through it) will not be easy at all for you. Here is a tip for those interested in making money through blogging: if you are planning to blog for the sole purpose of making money, then don’t do it. You would not enjoy blogging and you will definitely not find it to be easy. However, if your purpose and intent is to CREATE VALUABLE CONTENT and if you enjoy doing that, by all means, get started right away.

8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

I would say the most challenging moment in my blogging journey was when I was getting started. I was in the same boat as many others are who want to start a blog but have no idea how to do it. However, after much contemplation, I took the plunge last year and went right into it. I figured out so many things on the way. I have learned so much through my own research and trial and error. I still have so much more to learn. But after I got started, I felt relieved knowing that at least I have a platform now. So if you want to start a blog, just get started! Don’t think much as doing so will only take up a lot of your time. Figure things out on the way and you will succeed in your blogging journey.

9. What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging?

I have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering! That is my greatest achievement outside of blogging!

10. Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why?

I don’t have a blogging hero. I just don’t know.. am I supposed to have a blogging hero?

11. What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out?

Make sure to select a niche that won’t disappear in the coming years and that you won’t be bored of soon.

12. Have you collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with

I have not collaborated with brands yet, but that is something I would like to do next in my blogging journey.

13. Finally, what are your thoughts about BloggerMagazine?

BloggerMagazine is a community of bloggers. I think it is an amazing place to learn more about different bloggers out there and to connect with them.
